Know You Were Here

Tease out the meaning of things.

Have all of this count

For something.

Make it your life’s work.

Look up from your book, your ledger,

Your slumber.

Messages are waiting.

The sun sets on the dock in five minutes,

Someone has something to show you,

Drop everything.

We are granted a finite amount

of absolutely

everything.

Listen for the unspoken.

Pop your collar.

Shoot your cuffs.

Know you were here.
